Dial Is For You

DIAL is as near as your telephone. Anyone in Louisiana can call 1-800-922-DIAL toll free for information on supports and services available for individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages. DIAL is a statewide information and referral system. It was created for one reason - to assist you in finding help!

DIAL is unique in Louisiana. Through its toll free number and computer data bank, DIAL links callers to public and private resources in every part of the state. DIAL can:

  • answer questions about disabilities
  • provide information on service providers, support groups and any other available assistance
  • assist families moving into or away from Louisiana in making new connections with service providers and support groups in their new communities

In response to caller requests, DIAL is able to do computer searches for goods, services, assistance, and provide callers with either on-line referrals or printed reports by mail. DIAL’s priority is to answer questions and help locate services for persons of all ages who:

  • have disabilities
  • have infants and children with disabilities
  • are concerned about friends, neighbors, or clients who have a disability

The Council provides, as amended, educational and informational literature to persons and organizations who request these materials. To order any of these publications, call the Disabilities Information Access Line (DIAL) , 1-800-922-DIAL (3425) or 1-800-256-1633 TDD
